Terms of service.
Photographer's Breakthrough Terms and Conditions
Payment Schedule:
Full tuition is due 120 days before the start of the class. You will receive an invoice via email when your balance is due. If your tuition balance is not received within five business days of receiving your invoice, your spot will be automatically forfeited, and your deposit will not be refunded.
Cancellation Policy:
Due to up-front costs and involved logistics required for our workshops, we have strict cancellation and refund policies. As a result, we recommend that you are sure you can make the workshop before you register.
Workshops deposits are nonrefundable.
If you cancel more than 120 days prior to the workshop start date you will receive a refund of your tuition minus your deposit.
If you cancel less than 120 days prior to the workshop start date you will not receive a refund. If, however, we are able to fill your seat with a suitable replacement you will receive a refund of your tuition minus your deposit. Unused tuition cannot be applied to future workshops.
If you need to calculate 120 days from the workshop start date, use THIS handy dandy calculator.
If Photographer’s Breakthrough has to postpone a workshop for any reason your tuition may be applied to the rescheduled workshop or a future workshop within a calendar year.
In the unlikely event that Photographer’s Breakthrough has to cancel a workshop, participants will be informed as soon as possible and all money will be refunded.
Your part (in 3 parts):
Our policies aim to protect our small business while being as fair as possible to you. We want you to take steps to protect your investment and reduce any potential losses you may incur. With that said, we strongly suggest you consider the following:
1) Although it’s unlikely, unforeseen circumstances do arise. To protect you against losses, we are requesting that all participants purchase trip cancellation or travel insurance. This will cover you in many cases of trip cancellation, interruption, property loss, and emergency medical. These policies are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased for between 4-10% of the trip cost. (Please note: these policies need to be purchased within 7-14 days of the deposit payment.)
To research and purchase travel insurance go HERE , HERE or HERE for the top recommended sites.
2) Traditional travel insurance policies will not cover you if you cancel due to COVID-19. If you feel that it’s likely you may need to cancel as a result of health risks or fear of traveling we recommend you purchase an additional Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) policy. These policies piggy back on top of your trip cancellation policy and will give you peace of mind that you’ll be covered regardless of your reasons for canceling. They’re less expensive and typically come in at 40% of your travel insurance policy cost. If you want to be covered for anything that may come up, get a CFAR in addition to your trip cancellation policy. It’s a smart choice and can cover 75% of your total trip expenses. (Please note: these policies must be purchased within 7-14 days of the deposit payment.)
For additional information on CFAR policies go HERE.
3) We encourage participants to purchase refundable airline tickets.
Photographer’s Breakthrough is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of a course cancellation.
Workshop Details:
Unless specified, all meals, lodging, entrance fees, transportation, and airfare are the responsibility of the participant. Photographer’s Breakthrough does not provide transportation during the workshop.
For some of our workshops, we've secured lodging at hotels that are centrally located, have reasonable rates, and are well-appointed. We arrange special rates for our participants at these hotels whenever possible. For convenience as well as class experience, Photographer’s Breakthrough encourages all participants to stay at these suggested hotels. To ensure the Photographer’s Breakthrough student rate and availability, we encourage students to book their rooms at their earliest convenience.
Code of conduct:
We strive to provide a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment in all of our workshops. Your behavior during the week can impact your instructors and others in the group. Please review our Code of Conduct HERE to familiarize yourself with our expectations. Anyone found to be undermining the experience of others through his or her behavior may be asked to leave the workshop and their tuition not refunded.
Risks:
By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions you acknowledge that there are risks, hazards, and dangers associated with photographing in locations that we may visit during location workshops and you assume the responsibility for damages to your property and injuries to yourself while on this workshop. By agreeing to these conditions you are waiving the right to sue Photographer’s Breakthrough and its agents for loss, injury, or damage resulting in the participation in this workshop.
