“The negative is comparable to the composer’s score and the print to its performance. Each performance differs in subtle ways.” Ansel Adams knew the importance of “post processing”. He thought it was imperative to create the best possible negative (our digital capture) so that you could accurately express yourself with the final print (or Instagram or Facebook ???). You want to be able to express yourself, don’t you?
Embrace the computer. As modern photographers, it’s nearly impossible to work without coming into contact with that keyboard and screen. Its not all bad though. The more we learn the less time we need to spend mashing buttons and moving sliders! Our days will be spent learning the ins and outs of Lightroom plus an introduction to Photoshop’s most important tools. The goal? To minimize your computer time and maximize your creativity.
All work and no play… well you know. Don’t worry we won’t keep you inside all day. There’s too much to photograph in the San Fran area! The natural and man-made beauty has long drawn creative types to this section of California. Boasting gorgeous headlands, beautiful architecture, giant redwood trees and a really big bridge, this coastal playground will provide endless amounts of inspiration as well as examples for our daily classes.
We get asked all the time what gear we recommend, so we took it upon ourselves to help you out and make a handy dandy list of EVERYTHING we’ve got and love. From what’s in our bag, to our tripod recommendations, to our lighting equipment and everything in between. You never know, we just might help you justify that next purchase. And because we both love gear so much, we’re ok with that.
