Workshops give you the perfect environment to grow. They empower you to elevate your photographs, so you can be the photographer you were always meant to be.
Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.
We are a vision based workshop company. What does that mean? Well, it means, you have a part in this too, no matter what your skill level, you bring the vision and we’ll back you up; supporting you every step of the way to help you become the photographer we feel you deserve to be (with a little elbow grease, of course).
We want nothing more than for you to show up as yourself in your photography and in your life. We are excited to see what YOU bring to the table and we’re standing by ready to help you when you show up for your dreams.
Sky above, sea below.
Attention: This is a new workshop! If you have been to the Oregon Coast with up before, we are exploring a whole brand spanking area from Brooking to Bandon. The Oregon coast is on almost every photographer’s bucket list. It’s special. In fact, when PB was just an itty bitty baby, the Oregon Coast was chosen as our first workshop and for a good reason. This will be fresh and new for the PB crew, so if you are a majestic landscape lover, you literally cannot afford to miss this one. If you’re not standing there in awe, you have your eye closed. Maybe you joined us back in the olden days, or perhaps you have never been to the Oregon Coast before and want to check this beauty off of your list. New or old, come with us and witness this absolute gem, she’s promised to show you a whole new side, and it’s going to be unforgettable.
Tony never disappoints. He has a great eye for detail and his critiques continue to help me with my photos both in camera and post work. I can't wait to do another workshop!
-Jen WeissWe're ready for ya, ask away.
Betcha we already thought of that.
Well, most often it goes a little something like this... coffee (of course!), morning shoot, break, image critique, evening shoot, dinner (or in our house din din). You'll be a busy bee with just the right amount of down time to rest your creative muscles.
Well, this is an important one and I'm so glad you asked. The honest truth is NO, but let me explain why. First of all, it is paramount that we keep our group size small when showing up to locations. Reason number two is that although it seems all sexy and cool to have someone with you, by the end of the workshop they usually resent you because you have had no time for them, you're tired when you go out to dinner and can't wait to "get back and look at your images" and you worry all week about how bored/happy they are. You'll have to take our word for it, but it's not a good idea and for these reasons workshops are meant for participants only.
Funny you asked, we already thought of that. We have a hotel picked out with a room block for the fine folks attending our workshops. You will also get a special room rate as well. Sweet huh? With that said, you are welcome to stay wherever your heart desires based on your preferences and budget as long as it's easy for you to get back to your hotel and have your images ready in time for critiques. Just give us a heads up if you plan on making other arrangements.
Oh man, these are all quite different scenarios but there is one thing that can help, Travel Insurance. We regret to inform you that we still do not currently own a crystal ball. So we strongly recommend getting insurance, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Check out our terms and conditions linked at the bottom of the page for details and recommendations.
Um, we've heard that before. The answer is, unfortunately, no. We know that with digital cameras, technology is forever involved. With that said, we cannot give you tech support for problems that arise with your computer during the workshop. If this happens we will kindly advise that you make a call to someone who can help you sort out the problem. PB is for photographers who want to make amazing photographs and we take this very seriously. Time spent on students' computer issues can really undermine the workshop experience for other participants and we're just not cool with that. Please make sure all of your technology is up to date and in excellent working order prior to attending.
Ok, we're really glad you asked this one. Yourself, first of all. We feel that’s quite necessary. Next, your perfectly working laptop (with plenty of storage and a long lasting battery and charger cable) with the LATEST version of Lightroom, your camera (in tip top shape), and any lenses you love and that bring you joy, and some extra cards and batteries, and maybe some sunscreen (reef-safe of course!).
We love new, new is our favorite. With that said, you should come with solid computer skills, a basic understanding of Lightroom and the ability to upload/download/import/export with ease. You should know how to use folders on your desktop and use Dropbox. Know where you saved your images. Know how to google. Yep, if the struggle gets real in these departments you'll need to be able to get yourself out of a pickle (or have someone to contact that can help you).
