We had a great time in Colorado this fall. Gorgeous color, dramatic scenery and a full group of wonderful photographers. Words can’t describe the experience but photos can :). Check out what our talented students created in Colorado by clicking the catalog below.
Every now and then something comes along that is impossible to put into words. I feel that way about the Finding Focus workshops. Sure they have many of the components of mentoring and of workshops but there’s a shift that happens when you have 6 individuals so committed to moving forward that they’re willing to put their butts out there every day, twice a day, for a week while they unplug their head and shoot from their heart.
It never ceases to amaze me that we can all be so different with our photography. I guess that’s why I created the Finding Focus series of workshops; to identify and reinforce each photographer’s unique vision.
I’m in beautiful Vancouver, BC with a group of talented students who have joined me for Finding Focus 2018. We’re two days in and I thought I’d share a couple of the images they’ve taken. I’m so proud of everyone here and I wanted you to have a sense as to why.
Atmospheric, dramatic and saturated are words that come to mind when describing Olympic National Park. While not the first park that comes to mind when considering our country’s protected spaces it is certainly one of that hardest to forget once you pay a visit to this magnificent location.
We just got back from a workshop in Olympic where we spent the week with 14 talented photographers. As with all our workshops, we gave each student a project for the week to help push them into new and important directions with their photography. We were so blown away by the images they created that we wanted to show you one photograph from each person’s project so you could see the results of their hard work.
Macro is certainly one of the most difficult and rewarding types of photography out there. So many technical obstacles stand between the photographer and their vision but you’d never know it by looking at what our students produced in Portland.
Barce-freakin-lona. Yeah, we said it and yes were very, very excited to visit this magnificent city with a group of students. It was a very memorable experience and our students created hundreds of images which capture what makes this city so unique. Click on the catalog below and see a small sample of what they created during our week together.
